Investment objective
To outperform a benchmark composed of 50% Credit Suisse First Boston High Yield Bond Index and 50% J.P. Morgan Emerging Markets Bond Index Global Diversified fully hedged in Australian dollars over the long term by investing in a portfolio of high yielding government and corporate fixed-income securities in the developed and emerging markets.

Investment strategy

Capital International, Inc.’s (Capital International) global high-yield portfolios are designed to supplement traditional core fixed-income investments with the diversification and total return premiums offered by investments in non-traditional, value-added sectors. Returns for global high-yield portfolios are pursued almost exclusively through security selection. Duration characteristics, sector allocation and market weightings between U.S., non-U.S., and emerging markets are the results of security selection decisions. Managing value-added sectors requires a substantial research commitment. Capital International has extensive global research capabilities, and uses those capabilities to actively manage substantial fixed-income assets. Capital International’s intensive bottom-up research directly benefits security selection decisions. Capital International has significant experience managing global high-yield securities, having managed high-yield corporate assets since 1975 and emerging markets debt since 1989.
