Product Profile – Global Equity
Investment objective
To outperform the MSCI World Index or another appropriate benchmark over a full market cycle by investing primarily in large-cap stocks in developed global markets.
Investment strategy
Capital International, Inc. (Capital International) has an extensive commitment to fundamental research, with a large team of experienced equity analysts focused on gathering in-depth information firsthand on companies throughout the world. Capital International’s research strength is leveraged through a bottom-up approach to portfolio construction. Returns for global equity portfolios are pursued primarily through active security selection. Portfolio managers at Capital International are mindful of benchmark characteristics; however, country and sector weightings are primarily the result of finding value in individual securities wherever they may be located. Clients may opt for a portfolio invested solely in global equities or one that allocates a portion of assets to small-cap stocks and/or emerging markets equities. An emerging markets allocation may be invested either in a broad universe of emerging markets stocks or in a few selected, larger emerging markets companies. Capital International has a long and successful track record of excess returns managing global equities. Capital International began managing U.S. equities for institutional clients in 1968 and non-U.S. equities for institutional clients in 1978. The Capital organisation was among the first U.S. investment firms to manage non-U.S. equities and opened its first non-U.S. investment office in Geneva in 1963.
